Summer 2010

Summer 2010

The biggest and best-produced fashion show Swansea has ever seen took place on March 14, 2010 at the National Waterfront Museum as the Evening Post and Brian Brown staged the first ever Fashion Addict. Some 50 local models were complemented by six participants from London model agency Models 1, including Mecia Simson, the winner of last year’s TV programme Britain’s Next Top Model. Models 1 director Karen Diamond was also in attendance and helped pick the best local boy and girl model who will feature on the cover of Swansea Life.

The show was produced by Brian Brown and organised by the Evening Post events team. Blanche Sainsbury, managing director of South West Wales Media, said it was her vision to deliver something of a calibre never seen in Swansea before. “We knew that pulling off an event like this would be extremely challenging,” Blanche said. “But we agreed as a team from the start that unless this was a top quality occasion, which we believed Swansea deserved, we would not waste our time.” “We set ourselves several criteria: that we would work only with the top brands and people; that we would deliver a high-quality show and a quality venue’ that there would be high demand for tickets; that we would deliver a memorable occasion or the city and its people’ and that we would use a mixture of local and national talent.”
